Dorine, Yes, I'm sure some people have a problem as some brokers have raised their margin requirements or even required full cash for some netstocks. I am not allowed margin on calls at a full service broker, but can use margin on stocks to purchase the calls. So far nothing different for netstocks.

Ditch Compaq

I am a VAR specializing in the SMB market. I have run into several Dell pricing issues and have requested help from Compaq. In each case, it has failed to recognize any competition. It seems to think that Dell is selling the Dimension product at the same prices that you see on the Web. Well, it's not. Dell will give a better price once it is "talking" to a customer-when you take the quote and fax it to Compaq, you get no response.

My response is to not sell Compaq. I think it's time to leave Compaq and start marketing [our] own "white boxes," or move to another manufacturer that is willing to listen to its "sales force."
