Season's Greetings to ALL, I am putting the final touches on the EZ-PnF ascii data conversion utility package EZPNFUTL.EXE. It will be included in a full update of EZ-PnF to version 2.20R. All registered users will receive the free update in an email in the next several days. V2.20U/R contains a bunch of little fixes, improved memory use routines, and incorporates a new feature in the ASCII WIZARD that allows EZ-PnF to 'skip over/ignore' a user-specified number of lines at the beginning of an ascii data file. Many of you have told me that your programs/data-source have export/download data files that match one of the 600+ formats EZ-PnF can read BUT there is one or more 'extra' lines at the beginning. This new capability should directly solve this problem and let you avoid having to edit them before use. The EZPNFUTL.EXE package will be included inside of the EZPNF22R.EXE self expanding file. IF you wish to use the utility package click, or run, ezpnfutl.exe and it will expand and extract all the utilities included. The readme file EZPNFUTL.TXT is available without needing to expand EZPNFUTL.EXE. Included in EZPNFUTL.EXE is: EZPSP2CSV converts all the SPACEs in an ASCII file into commas. Great for spreadsheets that only export 'space' delimited data. EZTB2CSV converts all the TABs in an ASCII file into commas. Great for spreadsheets or data providers that use TAB as the delimiter character. EZREVERS Takes an ASCII file and reverses it's order ie the original first line is the last, and the original last line is now the first. EZDB2EZP Converts Dreyfus Brokerage historic data files into .EZP data files. .EZP data files can be directly read by EZ-PnF. EZMS2EZP Same as EZDB2EZP except uses MicroSoft Investor data files. EZYH2EZP Same as EZDB2EZP except uses Yahoo! Financial data files. EZPNFUTL will be included in the registered version only. Shareware users will have to continue to use spreadsheets or editors to 'convert/modify' the free historic data from Dreyfus, Microsoft, or Yahoo!, another reason to obtain a registered copy. In addition, as of January 1st, 1999 the registration fee for new EZ-PnF registrations will be increased to $20. Best wishes to all, Ben Antanaitis, Jr. ez-pnf.com
