OT Marcie, I think the changes you will see, will not be in the "born and bread" Republicans. However, the well educated people who have independent opinions may change sides. This mess has appeared to created more hatred for Republicans than the Democrats and this will be the problem for the party. This may affect future support and party fundings (except for the Tobacco companies). I think the biggest shifts could occur in the Business/Finance community which is a well educated group.

By the way, the speaker's resignations is just a party tactic. He would have never resigned if an impeachment vote was not taking place -- you could have bet on that. If he is so noble, he should have never wanted the speaker's position or even run for office. I think intelligent people will see through this. This is how this thing will play out in the days ahead.

It is too bad the pro business Republicans have been pressured to impeach. I hope these guys survive the next election. I don't care for some of the extreme right wing people.

I have to say that I have liked the Republican party in combination with a Democrat President. I am sorry to say we will see both a Democrat majority and a Democrat president in the next election.
Just my feeling.
