Probity: That's unrealistic. You can't expect Jeff to be totally unbiased about "CEO Bob" if he "knows him better than most of us".

If there's any kind of friendship between the two, then Jeff will be likely to pull punches to keep from publicly demeaning his friend. If there's any kind of animosity between the two, then you're giving Jeff the opening he needs to go for the jugular.

There's gotta' be a better way to determine what you want to know. I don't know what that way might be, but putting Jeff on the spot is unfair.

In regards to the character of CEO Bob, I would certainly like to hear the latest opinion by someone who knows him better than most of us.

When I was an early tool vendor in the Y2K field, I had occassion to rub elbows with ALYD cast. I was NOT favorably impressed. They, however, were clearly VERY impressed with whatever magic they've got under their hat. Many software companies/people are strange & highly egotistical, but ALYD really stood out.
