If the "Friends of Ericy" are trying to use subterfuge, it won't work with U.S. trade officials but may be a violation of U.S. anti-trust and fair trade laws. Don't think for a minute that the U.S. government will back off on this one. The United States is not going to allow the EU, under the guise of adopting neutral standards, to close out cdma from Europe or to disadvantage it. Ericy and the rest of its cabal will end up with 100% tariffs on their products. Nokia will not be foolish enough to make the mistake of joining them. IMHO the operators will be calling the shots--not the vendors or their allied suppliers.
