I agree. I also believe there is much hypocrisy in these arguments.

"Qualified analysts" and brokerage firms are always front running their picks. Right or wrong it's the way it works.

Here's an example...

Analyst puts a buy on XYZ.

The firm he works for positions XYZ with institutional clients, maybe even builds an inventory of XYZ in their own account in expectation of orders from their retail operations.

Then they put out the buy to their retail brokers (maybe make it their stock of the week) who in turn give the XYZ rec to their best clients first.

Usually last comes a news service picking up the buy recommendation after the stock has moved.

That's just the way it is. Let the free market rule. If your in (or out) before the herd the more power to you.
