To all: Does anyone has information about:
1) AOL having Interactive TV on the agenda?
2) AOL's activities outside the USA? How will they conquer the
European, Asian and LatinAmerican markets with mainly American content?

Any input re the above is appreciated.
Michael B.

DELL is PC direct seller pioneer. And will have 30-50%retures in few years which is great. By the way, Let's pay attention to competition.
DELL will face stiff competition from other on-line Computer seller such as COOL who is very aggressive to penetrate this industry and I predict that their sales will exceed BBY(Best Buy) in 5 to 10 years.
which means COOL MKT Cap will grow from 700 Mil to 8,000 Mil in 5 years as well as competition from CPQ Gateway.
AOL? I have 20% of my portfolio. AOL will get close to MSFT gradually in 5 years.

jhg;

I also have both AOL and DELL, and I expect AOL to grow much faster than DELL. I will be satisfied if DELL reaches $100 by the end of 1999. Of course, I don't mind if DELL gets there sooner. Thanks. B.J.

BTW, turn off your Caps Lock key.

Something to think about DELL. Yes it has been a great performer, but some of the landscape has changed over the past several months. Gateway who also is like DELL reported that they would not meet expectations for this quarter. Also Compac Comp. has had a bad time in the past due to too much inventory and were caught with computer part prices going down for new computers which brought down the price. They still had to get ride of the old inventory which obviously had higher costs. They have now essentially done that. Now Compac is also going into the mail order business and building computers to order to directly compete with DELL. This will have an effect on DELL. As to how much, one will have to see. Also remember that hardware prices have been going down on computers and with it are profit margins. Just food for thought.
