Okay Edwarda, here I am, but I must warn you, the only thing I've ever kissed is my dog Spike.

I kissed Spike because he saved my life two years ago up in the Klondike. We were hunting the last three Grizzly bears in the world when I tripped on a branch and fell off a cliff. Three hours later Spike found me at the bottom of the cliff and realized right away what I wanted most. He ran back to our campsite and returned with a pack of Camels and a Bic lighter in his mouth. I was so moved by his thoughtfulness that I gave him a big kiss.

We were rescued by the Forest Rangers after I started a signal fire that burned down 700,000 acres of prime forest and wiped out seven endangered species.

Jim

Life and death: they are one, at core entwined.
Who understands himself from his own strain
presses himself into a drop of wine
and throws himself into the purest flame.

[Life and death: they are one...]
by Rainer Maria Rilke - Christmas, 1922
