I will answer your questions with more questions. If Samsung is yielding 97% at .21µ why have they not converted all their fabs to .21µ? Also, why bother with production cuts with the price in the $8 range? With costs down around $4 there is no reason not to produce all out because their profit would be unbelieveable. Heck if MU has been at 60% for most of the quarter they will make a nice profit this quarter.

It is fairly clear that like MU, Samsung is moving quickly to .21µ so I assume that their yields are reasonable. LG and Hyundai are moving much more slowly, which could be either due to capital constraints or yield problems. Also both were willing to cut back production in the $8 range, but crank it up at $10. I believe that actions speak louder than words, and their actions say that their costs are in the $9 range.
