Republicans would lose a lot to the likes of Libertarians if they took your advice, I think. :-)

If the Republicans took my advice, they would in fact retain the libertarian/moderate wing of the party along with a substantial amount of independent voters and probably win the whole shootin' match in the next election. Doesn't look like it will happen though. And yes, third parties will pick up more support.

I think you're a principled guy in your support of Paula Jones' rights to a fair legal hearing. I do think, however, that a majority of voters perceives the motives of the GOP to be a combination of a vendetta against Clinton along with a morbid preoccupation with private sexual matters. I state this merely as an observation.
