<Another little consequence is there is now a great many people, including me, who will never vote for a Republican again. The depth of our outrage will spread like water on a blotter. There is no forgiveness for purposeful cruelty. What the Republicans have done, in their fanaticism and hatred, is embrace blatantly unfair tactics so as to ruin the man and, incidentally, the process that heretofore has served us pretty well.>

Marty :

May be you should wait until after the Senate trial to bet all your chips on Clinton.

Some people in his camp may also have acted with hatred and fanaticism, and that could influence the judgment of the American people.

"No question that an admission of making false statements to government officials and interfering with the FBI is an impeachable offense." Bill Clinton, Arkansas Gazette, August 8, 1974, page 7-A

Marty, I hope every one of the male republican congressmen from California is dragged through the mud by Larry Flynts sleaze campaign. I have no doubt some will be. I hope these guys lose their reputation and their families, and get divorced over this. I also hope that after the divorce their stupid stay at home family values wifeypoos are then forced to live in poverty because they have no career and their kids will then have to go to public schools for an education.

We can only dream.

Endlessly, the ignorant liberal elitists point to Starr, Hyde etc. as the creators of the ugly situation this country finds itself in.

Listen carefully, it's cranial enema time.

There was only one single moment in time when a simple choice was made that set this entire sordid spectacle in motion and that was when Bill Clinton decided to lie in the Paula Jones deposition. If, at that moment, he had instead told the truth, none of this COULD have happened. Yes, he would have faced a serious problem if he had answered the grand jury questions truthfully, but he would have faced that problem honorably and honestly and WOULD ultimately have survived it because, if he had told the truth, then the issue would genuinely have only been sex. But by lying HE made the issue perjury. No president should be able to COMMIT A FELONY and get away with it.

humiliating Clinton once again by putting a permanent blemish against his name on the historical record.

It is yet to be determined if this will be a blemish or an achievement. Yes, I know this seems radical, maybe even to me, but Clinton may yet come out on top. He has been looking for his legacy, the President who turned back the Radical tide and gave us another 8 years of prosperity. It could happen
