Paul, thanks for the explanation about XML.

It doesn't really have anything to do with how browsers search databases, since browsers don't actually search databases.

I didn't make myself clear in my previous post. Trying to do it better now.<G>
My understanding is that SGML and any subset of it, like HTML, XML or OFX, is a set of tags. When the server sends a plain ASCII code "peppered" with those tags, the browser on the user side knows how to organize information on the screen or printout. HTML able browser handles pages mostly. XML able browser will be able to handle more complex information, like spreadsheets, databases, etc.

I was thinking that the OFX will only be used when information needs to be presented to humans, that is on the presentment side of EBPP. CF's main business is transaction processing. It exchanges batch (right name?) files with banks. Those files are not viewed by customers and no need to use OFX.

My point was that OFX is not really a threat to CF. I'm still not sure about it. Just MHO.
