Good Post Maurice!

Didn't know that two Ericsson employees were arrested in Mexico along with some officials?! That is certainly not a good sign!

I have long been aware of the situation between Qualcomm's CDMA and Ericsson's attempt not to miss out, but never thought, and I have never heard personally about bribery or lying. There is one thing to be business smart, but if it turns out Ericsson has crossed the line with this one it can only mean they have real internal trouble.

I think there is a lot more to it though, both politically and business wise, than we know today and I wouldn't be surprised if Ericsson's attempt to compromise the standard, by proposing a slower transmission speed, is just because they don't have the hardware to support the faster standard yet.

I'm just getting tired by the fact that the technology for next generation wireless phones is out there; yet, the parties involved can't agree upon one standard. One standard will benefit all parties in the long run; short term one or the other has to take the hit.
