Matthew,
The IBD had a story out Friday (page A7) that 17 out of 25 military operations since the 40's resulted in an increase in the market the next day. If the period is extended to 3 weeks they claim 80-84% of last 24 operations (excluding D.Fox as it isn't three weeks yet) resulted in a market increase.
Just another example of when our guts turn on us<VBG>.
Now if we were losing a war it might be different.....seems IBD does not include any Vietnam actions after 1970 or the fall of Saigon (no offense to vets, just market view). I remember the 70's, 73-74 was a bear and a half! Course the oil embargo was mostly to blame, but would that have occurred otherwise? Anyway, far enough down that road.

Regards,
Roebear
