Wait a sec! Because BLD's "test" busses, in their first field test, require modifications to the engine compartment and cooling system, the author has determined that the engineering hurdles going forward are "staggering"? Sorry, I'm not making that leap myself. I'm pretty impressed that BLD is close enough to making busses that have zero emissions that they are actually field testing them. That article reads like a diatribe from Sid. I can remember when reformer size was a staggering hurdle according to some. Friday Daimler announced a 40% reduction in the size of their methanol reformer with no effect on performance. That's the same reformer that's been referred to as a mini refinery. Once it was the size of a room, now it fits in the trunk of an economy sized car. That's what I call "staggering".

One only needs to review the company's history to see that they have overcome many more serious hurdles than fixing glitches on the busses. I think I will reserve judgement until they have had a chance to complete their TWO year test program.

Ballard's market cap is way too high. For example, Global Thermoelectric (GLE-TSE) is already very profitable and they'll be prototyping a fuel cell in a couple months that will work with dirty fuel. They're trading for just over a dollar.

Given that Ballard isn't generating significant earnings, there's a lot of hope in the stock price.
