That was really weak
(Re: emphasis of the word other in the phrase Treason, Bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors. )

While I have not had the time to read the Federalist Papers (The articles written by the original framers of the Constitution to explain and justify their creation), I did listen to a discussion of a scholar familiar with them.

He said in the original draft of the Constitution impeachment was only allowed for Treason and Bribery. There was much discussion whether these were the only crimes which required the removal of the President. There was discussion about the crime of Murder. Some felt that was implied by treason, others felt that only if the murder was intended to overthrow the government would it be treason. The phrase other crimes and misdemeanors was inserted to correct this problem. They clearly never thought affairs of the heart rose to the same level.
