Robert, Without going into details unless requested, yes I do agree that technically CMPC is looking good. It would be especially favorable if it broke above $5 1/4 on heavy volume. Fundamentally it appears they have every intention of clearing the decks this quarter and setting the stage for the best possible earnings they can muster in '99. I think SFE has a higher than normal interest in that happening. If they execute, a big if, the stock could double from here in the new year. That would be most welcome. Mike

Any read on USDC? Appears SFE bought some more shares...

Setting up to sell it off? Sure seems possible. Consolidation in USDC's market is happening (WNDR, CSIM, Promis, Fastech, Intellution, etc. all acquired recently), and they're gonna get left behind if they don't get gobbled up soon. Potential buyers also need to act fast to stay up with their competitors, so I'm guessing sooner rather than later.

What's SFE's track record on selling off its babies?
