I agree. At least one person who is in contact with someone at the company reads this. I have a question for everyone out there. It's long, but you might want to give it a listen. I have been on the internet way before the webb was invented - 1987. There is much hype about ebay revenue from adds and potential earnings. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I always dismissed adds as a waste of time. It just clouds up my screen and annoys me. When I get on the net I know what I'm looking for. In my entire life, I think I have clicked my mouse on maybe half a dozen adds. Needless to say, I was amazed when I found out how much people were willing to pay the likes of yahoo to advertise. I just can't picture it being worth anything. Is there any place you can go to actually get numbers as to how much those adds and not the company webb page and links contribute to the sellers' coffers? As for myself., I have never paid for an add on the net and done just fine. Also I had an AOL account for awhile and got rid of it promptly, because I was so annoyed by the adds and limitless plethora of junk mail. Even with filter's I couldn't read my mail. There was no such thing as just logging in to get mail. You had to look at a dozen useless adds. In my opinion, as time progresses and the novelty of the net wears off, advertisements will be less and less a contributer to direct revenue. In the interum it was just a what do we do with the internet technology answer. Gee, the only thing I can think of is what we've been doing all along in every other media: let's put an add on it! That's what's great about ebay. There have never been any advertisements until now. I go there, I know who I am and what I like. I look at what I want, buy what I want, and sell what I want to sell. Get the rest out of my face. I have to put up with people trying to sell me magazines at the airport and at stop lights, and tele-marketers phone calling during dinner. I get enough of that on a daily basis. So what do you think?
