Ah, Mike, I am glad that you were willing to risk public embarrassment to get an esteemed semi-medical opinion on the state of your infected butt from some of the incredibly brilliant people who post here. My, my, what a wide range of subjects the Feelings thread covers, which reminds me of why I love it so much here.

I am puzzled by your question as to what you and your wife are going to have to talk about if you sit less often, if I understand you correctly. Wouldn't most wives be ecstatic if their guys jumped up enthusiastically and resolved to sit less often?

Oh, I do hope you are not wearing tight underwear, and even more important, that you sleep in nothing at all, or very loose, all-cotton things. Our bodies need to breathe at night! I am always trying to get my daughter out of her underwear and tights, for just the same health reasons that you have reminded us of with your protracted agony.

Incidentally, were you afraid you were on the verge of getting a systemic infection? I have no medical training, but know that those can be quite dangerous. I would like to know more, if anyone wants to volunteer. Is it true that when you have a localized infection, the beginnings of a fever indicate the danger point?

I hope you had a nice holiday, Mike!
