Mike,
A friend down the road is a commodities broker. He told me the divergence between stock and commodity prices is historically at the high.( he did have a chart to support it his opinion).

He's pushing a commodity mutual fund he just started. I haven't seen the prospectus yet. My question is: is he telling me the truth? and secondly am i better off accumulating shares of individual co's.
Currently,I'm long SLB,FLC,GLM,DBRSY, IMPLAY. Looking to add on the latter two. Also how do you determine price targets when selling?
Thanks,
Brice

MB, Earlie, et al --

I first just wanted to thank you for all the great posts. I know I am going to get added to the flame list by the lovers of INTC, MU (i.e. "Morons Unite"?), Amazing.com and the rest of the internuts, but I believe this is the best thread on SI, bar none. An all-star combination of humor and analysis.

I was also wondering if you all could help me with my current quandary: I agree with your assessments of the tech fluff and I have DEEP, DEEP reservations about the broader market and the world economy (please, only throw ripe tomatoes at me! I'll use them in my pasta sauce tonight <ggg>), but I am paralyzed when it comes to the timing of put plays. I am completely convinced that MU, CPQ, INTC and the rest are poised to collapse, but I just don't know when brutal reality will bust through the current thicket of lies and become reflected in more sane stock prices. The lies could last for weeks, if not months. I expect the MU call next week to make WJC seem like a truthful person. But when does the truth shine through? I am like a deer caught in the headlights, paralyzed at the thought of getting vaporized like the poor shorts in AMZN.

In short (no pun intended <g>), many (if not all) of MB's put stocks will crash eventually, but if you don't have a more precise idea of the timing of the fall, you cannot make money off of them.

Any thoughts? TIA

-- Robert
