Before I short it, I'm looking for that one last surge (or at least an indication that this one is over). I believe that the stock will start to decline after the new year because of holders who have kept the stock for tax reasons, and then a more serious decline will begin 1/23 - maybe before, because the professional shorters may become serious at this point. This decline should accelerate once earnings are released (somewhere between 1/30 and 2/15) and officers can begin to sell. These 3 items, in combination with the xmas internet hype dying down (both on ebay and the internet stocks in general) will drive ebay down dramatically in the first quarter. If the traders get burned, they'll leave this stock to the retail investors who don't number enough to stop the decline.

As for myself, I never shorted and won't short.

The float is way too small for comfort for me. And it seems like
all the shorts have done is drive the price up when they cover.
Combine that with internet hype and hysteria and you might take a plastering. Of course that's just my opinion (disclaimer etc etc)
