Mary knows what she's talking about. I read Mary's "The Internet Report" in early 1997, and became aware of Yahoo's lead and probable dominance of the portal (it wasn't called "portal" then) space. I'm surprised she didn't recommend Yahoo concurrently with that research. I had gotten some shares a year earlier at the IPO, and had seen a couple formal company presentations by then. But she sure opened my eyes much wider, and I bought more based mostly from what I saw developing from Mary's report. That was 19x ago, and about the time I started hitting the SI Yahoo thread so hard.
