Based on looking at the charts, 1995 was a very good year. Just how good can be quantified by using the closing prices of 1/27/95 compared to the subsequent high price for each stock reached in 1995. The high price was picked on whatever date it occurred, not on a particular weekend close. Again, data for only 27 of the stocks was available on 1/27/95, so only 27 stocks out of the 41 can be compared. The group gain for the 27 stocks was 141 percent. The spread in the group was very broad varying from NANO at 1709 percent, to MICN at 66 percent. 21 out of the 27 stocks had gains greater than 100 percent. 6 stocks had gains greater than 200 percent.
