Wrong again. Ms Tripp and Ms. Lewinski were in different states. Ergo, the federal wiretap law controls (Supremacy Clause -US Constitution) and under the federal wiretap law only one party needs to consent. I think we can assume Ms. Tripp consented. JLA

Yet another legal wrinkle to be worked out. Ken Starr gave Linda Tripp blanket immunity so long as she agreed to slander the President. His immunity does not extend to state laws (he had federal jurisdiction) but he set out in his immunity bargain everything he could find about the state laws in order to deny the state of Maryland their day in court. This is still ongoing but will remain a footnote for quite a while. You can be sure that Tripp is going to have to turn to the Radical groups for legal-financial support.
