In BC I am toally fed up with our gov't and have been for a long time. Sociallism leads to high taxes and services run by gov't which become terribly inefficient and costly hence another hit on the taxes.
Socially, geographically and economically it makes a lot more sense to go north and south with a union. I have freinds in Wa.and go there 3 times a month on sales trip then off to Cal. in January. Wouldn't make much sense to go to Ontario. Shipping costs and account servicing are too high.
Locals start to talk about lack of guns here etc.. My experience tells me that the neighbours in Wa. are much like the neighbours here as are the traffic jams ect. People believe the perception and a lot of that is just off TV. Get down to the everyday people and business and the former are much the same and the later much better. As for health care , in Canada we had a great private insurance system in the 60's which has been replaced by the gov't health care that is having problems now because of costs. CAn you imagine the cost of that inefficient beauracracy? There is no question the people of Canada would be better off with private health care and we had better care with private insurance. Lower taxes and overall cheaper. The same goes for car insurance.
If Quebec would just separate it might put the wheels iin motion for a north south union. Quebec would suffer economically but BC would be far better off.
