Here is a list of things to look at in a company that always seem suspicious to me.Add too it if you see fit. After starting the "Gimmie Your .02 Two Cents Worth" thread you see a trend in these companies that are trading less than ten cents before a consol and if you watch the activity after the consolidation.

)ASE and VSE companies that are exhausted do a 1 for 13 or 1 for 15 share consolidation to facilitate financing in the future.

)Companies have had a run in the last 52 weeks to an inflated price relative to companies worth.i.e. 52 week high .69 52 week low .02.

)Company has applied for a name change and in some cases symbol change.

)Company will be increasing authorized shares to 100,000,000 after the consolidation of 1 for 13 or 1 for 16.

)The company has acquired rights to a new property or patent or new anything.

)This director or this Chairman has resigned, this director or Chairman has been appointed.

)Shares for debt on a previous 2 or 3 cent company after the consolidation.

)Options approved as incentives for directors or employees on a company that has done nothing and continues to do nothing.

)Public relations contract awarded or cancelled......

These seem to be the most popular theme you see on these small companies and it is interesting to lay out a time line and compare it to the timing of announcements and resultant change in price and insiders trading. It blows me away.I am sure there are more people will add and I hope they do.
