I had the same visceral response to Clinton you did. There have been Democrats I really liked and respected (though perhaps I did not agree with all their policies)- Carter, Mondale, Tsongas but Clinton just made my skin crawl. I thought maybe it was the rancid good ole'boy exudate that turned me off.

When Iraq invaded Kuwait, the United Nations Security Council passed Resolution 661 which, among other things, imposed severe economic sanctions as an inducement for Iraq to withdraw its forces from Kuwait.
Subsequent to the Gulf War and as a result of increased concern about Iraq's stockpiling of "weapons of mass destruction," the Security Council revised the sanctions. Iraq was to be allowed to purchase only food and medicine until teams of weapons inspectors were satisfied that all weapons had been discovered and destroyed.
Now it's being reported by Arabic News that U.S. concerns about weapons in Iraq have been aggravated in the last months by Israel. Apparently, Netanyahou presented stunning information to the Americans indicating that Iraq was far closer to achieving nuclear weapons than had been supposed. His information came from former high ranking Mossad agent turned Netanyahou Political Advisor Uzi Arad.
How much did this contribute to the current escalation of hostilities? Is Iraq paranoid or is Israel specializing in conflict inducement?
Was the bombing of Irag the price that Netanyahou demanded for compliance with the agreement of another 5% Zionist withdrawal from Plestininan occupied territory?
