Denison's Costs Reduced

JANUARY 7, 1999

TORONTO, ONTARIO--Denison Mines Limited announced today that
because production at the McClean Lake uranium project is not
expected to commence before the end of April, the work force at
the site will be temporarily reduced by about 120 people,
representing about 40 percent of full staffing levels.

All work necessary to fulfill the regulatory requirements
including the licensing process and the construction work at the
JEB Tailings Management Facility is continuing.

In Greece, restructuring discussions with the workers' union and
the Greek State have ended. Denison has given notice of
termination of its interest in the Prinos producing field and has
reduced the Greek staff to 37 people for security and standby
maintenance of the facilities. Discussions on the abandonment of
the Prinos field are proceeding.
