Thanks for your clarification on damage control. I too had relationship and marriages that broke up. I was sad and happy. Sad for the lost happy to see bad relationship finally come to an end. I never looked back and felt only if this hadn't happen or only if I did something different. Never blamed anyone but always took full responsibility for my actions. Life as you know it is to short so why wait time thinking about the way thing were. Sounds like a good title for a movie.

>>I'm battening down the hatches for the volleys that may follow this posting.<<

No need to do so on my part. One of the nicest posts I've
read in a while...mostly the parts about the special
bonding in a good marriage. IMO, if more people thought/felt
this way about marriage, there would be a lot less divorces.

(I liked the vomiting description<g>...because for sure, when
we get old this will be common-place reality. Hey, we wipe
up our kids butts 6 times a day when their doing their
thing for the first few years, so what's the big deal anyway.
We even constantly clean the mess of our dogs and cats and
think nothing much about it. So what is it with our loved
ones?...this applies to fathers, mothers, elderly and sick)

The only thing that I somewhat disagree with in your post
is the swearing before God, close ones/friends, and the law
as the things that bind one.

First, most close ones and friends that I know of haven't
stuck to their vows, so I certainly can't feel any moral authority
coming from them. The Law? No moral authority whatsoever
coming from the Law. IMO, it's just to rein in total chaos.
God? It all depends if you believe in God or not. Without
getting into any religious discussion, I'll just say it's
the only moral authority that hasn't been proven wrong
to this day.
