Here, I can clear it up. The Chronicle article is only for online U.S. Sales and the PC Computing article is for online worldwide sales.

RE: online commerce. I receive email news which quoted a research company (Forester Research? can't remember) that predicted 1.2 TRILLION by 2003! Who really knows?
