This is an important factor that every single sell-side analyst ignores. Even when painting the rosiest picture possible for Amazon, I have yet to see even one analyst mention that there might be even the _slightest_ bit of competition in the industry. It's as if they assume that Amazon will never have to compete with any other company on the planet. Even with those assumptions of 100% dominance in whatever marketplace Amazon enters, the projections are fanciful.

Has there ever been a single retail company in existence that did not have competition? Microsoft is the closest thing I've seen yet- and writing an operation system is much harder than designing a webpage and accepting credit card orders. It's not as if Amazon was founded by computer geniuses, it was founded by a wall street hedge fund manager, for chrissake. Are people really under the illusion that other companies can never take a piece of Amazon's pie?

I have yet to see a sell-side analyst EVER mention competiton when discussing Amazon. Ever. And that, folks, is a scary thing. I think most sell-side amazon analysts decided to stop issuing price targets because those sort of things could be used in the impending wave of client lawsuits that will inevitably follow once amazon comes back down to earth. Once again, Cover Yer Ass.

(2) Why is the most controversial stock in America, only visited here on SI by about 20 addicts?
(3) Volatility!! It's the only way to play it for the next few months.
It's a hedge players dream.
You can trust me on that. Why? because of the float!!
