(Reuters, 12/21) IMF Says U.S. Economic Slowdown In 1999 Is Inevitable - The U.S. economy, set to slow sharply in 1999 to about half this year's rate of growth, faces additional risk from a potential drop in stock prices, the International Monetary Fund said Monday. The international agency's World Economic Outlook estimated U.S. gross domestic product would expand by 1.8 percent in 1999 after growth of 3.6 percent this year.
