Unisys' Venezuelan Sales Rise 68% in 1998, El Nacional Says

Caracas, Dec. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Unisys Corp.'s Venezuelan sales rose 68 percent this year to $57 million, boosted by an eight-fold increase in business at its consulting unit, El Nacional newspaper reported. Eduardo Sosa Branger, general manager of Unisys' Venezuela operations, said the unit's revenue tied Unisys's Mexican unit and trailed the company's Brazilian, Colombian and Arentine units in Latin America. Sosa Branger said the company expects revenue to drop 7 percent next year to about $53 million because clients will hold off new business until the new government taking office in February implements its economic policies.
