Yep, not much of a world phone if the system is allowed to be compromised by the whims of the US Government. I could see the local govs being pissed by being cut out of the profit loop more than the US giving a rats a-- on who uses what. The number of people who would use the system in either country is not the point, it is the idea Mot would acknowledge and allow the interference.

Well aware of the current costs of I* handsets, the $2k differential was taking into account G* stated $750 price and some slop. The delays in G* startup will not increase the cost of the service but it will delay the profits. Plenty of business to go around, I just think G* has the best chance of capturing the lion's share. Now if they would only get some more birds in the air....
