Honda launching ULEV vehicle in 1999:

biz.yahoo.com

Honda demonstrating they can meet ULEV standards without low-S or OCP. The "JV" concept car DID feature DFI, so I assume this vehicle will too. I think they went hybrid because they wanted the vehicle to also be classified as "ultra high mileage". They don't mention CA, so this sounds like a nationwide launch. The boat is pulling away from the dock, and we're being left behind.

Further study of the fuel rail on my Vtec shows it be similar to the photo's of the S2000 motor. I'm still anxious to get confirmation (on DFI) on way or the other. On my motor, the injector fires into the intake runners just before the cylinder head (where the ports are siamesed to go to the two intake valves).

BMW is being surprisingly quiet thru all of this. They may already be a Siemens HPDFI customer. We need to go thru each of the automakers and establish who's left. If GM goes Toyota, they will take Saab with them. Volvo has gone with Mitsubishi GDI, DCX is probably choosing between Siemens HPDFI and OCP. But we need to do a roundup. I wonder where OE stands with Ford. That relationship soured some time ago, but Ford's not been associated with someone else, so OE may still have a shot at that account. Nissan about to be gobbled up, so that could go either way.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Welcome to the $2's.

I have a call into the chief financial officer of ENBCD. I doubt he will grant a pilot plant tour though.
