When you take the perspective of your individual ego you do feel separate and unconnected, but looking at this country and our world from a distance, we are all inextricably bound in the organism of humanity and more broadly--life. There is only US. "I","me", and "you", are fabrications of our ego. Regarding "deserving": cause and effect rules the universe, and we can be assured that we have participated in whatever we are, have, and will be experiencing. I have colorful charts and graphs with MANY numbers (including fractions) which scientifically prove this to be so.
