Corel announces the other Office 2000 suite Corel Corp. is releasing a new version of its WordPerfect office productivity software. And some industry observers suspect that its new name -- WordPerfect Office 2000 -- was expressly intended to make users think of that other major office suite -- Microsoft Corp.'s Office 2000. "It's a pretty good marketing ploy," says John Shoesmith, a software analyst with International Data Corp. (Canada) Ltd. of Toronto. "Whether it's an attempt to confuse the marketplace and confuse it with Microsoft (Office), that's probably part of their plan." ...Sales have been flat recently.
