I thought this was fair balanced reporting:

Pretty much...but why do they have to keep harping on the "stockpiling food" issue?

Remember the great toilet paper shortage? Supposedly Johnny Carson mentioned in his monologue (now there's a source of solid factual information!) that rumors of a pending toilet paper shortage were indeed not true...& the stuff began disappearing off the shelves!

And the '73 gas crises? Seems that normally folks drive around with an average of 1/2 tank of gas. In the "crisis" folks were so jumpy they'd see a line & get in it...suddenly people were driving around with 3/4 of a tank. Zingo a gas shortage.
