[EDIT] Mr. J, try this for starters, this will give you a visual and I could still write the backtest if you want but this may be enough to "see" the picture

plot a 200 sma of closes
then plot the danger line, or the IX (irrational exuberance line)

Mov(CLOSE,200,S)+(Mov(CLOSE,200,S)*.15)

back wit parity code in a flash...
