Dave,

I like Bob Gabele's take on tax selling:

thomsoninvest.net

Basically, any stock that had a down year in a good market is going to get hammered (INDISCRIMINATE rain or shine outlook) at the end of the year. Hard to tell when people start back in (ie whether its between Christmas and new years or the first couple weeks of January), but the worst of the selling should be over. Those who made planned sales usually don't wait until the absolute last minute. Mr. Forbes has a tough job, but it seems fundamental that with a core product line that had a good profit margin, a stabilized work force/cost, and continued new products that this ship can get upright. I haven't been tracking closely due to my being very busy this year. Looking at fundamentals, Mr. Forbes should be able to get this company back to the 2-5 dollar range by properly getting the company break even/slightly profitable, however, he then needs to turn the corner with a new product and some renewed interest. It will be interesting to see how January turns out. As we enter 1999, you would think Touchstone would push the Y2K marketing button as well as continue to look at internet ideas.
