To compare the unwarranted death of 7 million people with the impeachment of someone who broke the law, is a little out of line in my opinion. I for one am glad they impeached him. It's been one scandal after another with this guy, it's about time he paid the price for it.

William, I love your analyses on SEG, I would appreciate it if we could stick to that on this board.

Thanks,

Rob.

<<however, this is something that has finally fired me up. I haven't been this angry since Viet Nam when they suspended the Constitution and waged a 15 yr., undeclared war, in which at least, 7 million were killed with 300,000 American casualties. Some things are more important than money! >>

I agree. Congress has shown their true stripes in this one and made a mockery of the processes established long ago by much wiser men. Those processes were established to protect ourselves from tyrants.

Rebuke Bill Clinton? Sure. He may be the last true icon of the self indulgent eighties and his behavior is repugnant. But impeach him and subject the country to instability at a time that we can least afford it? We may as well soak ourselves in gasoline and light a match.

We should make no mistakes here. This is not about furtive and unseemly sex. The stakes are considerably higher. In a world of increasingly vociferous condemnation of the west in general, and the United States in particular, this is about a galvanized rightist movement that would have us retreat to isolation. Global enterprise will suffer.

As the world heats up with economic and political fires lighting up the dim horizon, and the walls of worry rise to a crescendo of teeth gnashing, and finger pointing, one wonders where are the leaders with principal and resolve? One also wonders if Mano has considerately pointed the way for prudent investors.

Best,
Stitch

William:

To put my "abandoning ship" comment in perspective - I've still got one foot in the boat. Just trimming and pruning and getting ready for unforeseen pockets of turbulence. Mixed metaphors have their uses too. :)
