Christopher, I do agree with your sentiments regarding perjury. I am opposed to impeachment because the charges against Clinton have not been proven to my satisfaction and because the impeachment process is fostering so much hate and negativity in our country. I do NOT believe that impeachment is what is right and good for our country. I don't think that it will help in any way. This does not mean (though people will ignore this part and mindlessly accuse me anyway) that I support or endorse perjury. My own personal feeling is that I think the entire investigation was silly and unnecessary and was, in fact, nothing more than a partisan vendetta carried out by Republicans suffering a bad bout of sour grapes. I don't care what Clinton did with whom, I don't think he should have had to answer to anyone about his sex life; and, quite honestly, I just don't think it's a big deal that he lied. BUT. If he DID commit perjury, then he should be prosecuted, because it's against the law, and my own personal opinion that it's not a big deal is irrelevant when placed against the judicial system. And people will ignore the latter half of this paragraph and quote the beginning and use it to foster the claim that I support perjury -- I'd be willing to bet money on it. :) So, in short, yes Clinton should be prosecuted and yes Clinton should be punished. But impeachment was never intended as a punishment, and impeachment will only hurt our country, and therefore I am against it. Rose
