Does anybody have any idea what happened here today.
I own some Noranda in a very long-term portfolio that is semi-managed by my broker at TD Evergreen, so I don't really follow it closely; bought it on her recommendation and just let it sit. But when I see one of these "long-term conservative blue-chip stocks" drop more than 22% in a day, with no news out on it, I gotta ask: What's up?

I am taking a look at Noranda. It is now paying 80 cents dividend per share which at its existing price of 15.55 gives a yield of about 5.21%.

What is the probability that Noranda will be able to keep paying out this type of dividend in the future? Last quarter results were very bad and I don't see how they can keep this dividend up if they are not producing the profits?

ANy thoughts?
