All:
With the WCW license ending soon (I know that doesn't mean the immediate end of products), will some of you reeducate me on the ability/possibility for THQ to retain (I'm struggling here for the right tech language) the game format that they developed even though they have to give up the right to use it in conjunction with WCW. It seems like many months ago I remember hearing that THQ would still own the raw product they developed and would be able to convert that master over to other wrestling titles. This was when the talk was that THQ could develop their own wrestling titles apart from a franchised name. If they own the basic format(s) am I right to think that they can just change the faces of the characters, some sounds and any reference to WCW and still use the format, or that they could license the format for EA to use? With the new WWF license, how will their previous development be able to be used?
