Haim, why would Egypt force Arafat's hand when they know what Israel's reaction would be? Unless they knew how the end game would be played out and then how do they benefit? I didn't think they were in the major leagues in oil exports.

Clinton Propose Anti-Terrorist Missile Defense System:
Utilizes Silicon Implants

In the wake of last week's surprise announcement that terrorists were planning retaliatory strikes against US installations, President Clinton appearing at Dow Corning headquarters, today, announced plans for an anti-terrorist missile defense system that would utilize silicon breast implants.

Said a spokesman for Dow Corning, "Sales of silicon breast implants have been sagging since it was discovered they cause cancer. We have hundreds of thousands of these things that we have been trying to get rid of."

Dow Corning's plan is to take their present stock of silicon implants and create a 'breast' the size of a house. Each US embassy would then be housed in the giant breast. Should a terrorist bomb or missile collide with the breat, the normally lethal projectile would be harmlessly 'bounced' away from the embassy.

White House scientists say they need some time to feel the idea out.

Arafat to declare a Palestinian State, Israel will disarm the PLO

The likely scenario now is that there will be an election in Israel around April. If so there will be no government in place on May 8 or whatever day it is that is 5 years from Oslo. With a four way race for the premiership and then needing a majority of parliament to approve the government this could be even messier than normal. The Israelis will find it difficult to act decisively given that there is not an immediate attack on them. Arafat might exploit the situation without being forced by Mubarak or whoever. Of course that could be a collosal miscalculation like the ones his mate Saddam has the habit of making.

On the other hand he might wait hoping a left wing government is elected which is likely. Up till now he would have been expecting Netaynahu to hold on till 2000 which was too long.
