She cared enough and I cared enough so children problems were left up to children. She had an open checkbook and so did I. Neither of us spent unwisely but very conservative. We never used credit and were fortunate not to need it. Neither was jealous of the other. Neither were possessive of each other. Finally as they say; third time is charm and I was a better mate picker due to prior experience. You know it has to be good when my son married her daughter. Problems galore through that one. We stay out of their problems.
