Another exec leaves 3dfx....

Looks like PR Director Steve Shick just left 3dfx. Crap...anyone know the deal?

re: Europe boardmakers

This has the possibility of throwing all of the advantages for the merger out the window and still get hit with all the negatives. If this is true and 3dfx has no restrictions on European boardmaker sales this may give me great pause for my investment in this company. Guillemot pretty much undercut everybody on Banshee and I don't so why they wouldn't shaft 3dfx on V3 either.

Pricing Control is difficult to maintain given competition. I'm not too concerned about European distributors undercutting TDFX at home because the bottom line is if it hurts TDFX they can simply shut them out. STB has some distribution overseas and could probably invest to get a stronger foothold in the future. I think outside of the clone makers in Asia, using someone else in Europe will be temporary until they either buy someone out or setup their own distibution. Their biggest problem has been CREAF/DIMD pressure to lower prices right away without real committment to the products - standard boards, pushing TNT, etc. Price stability for a slightly longer period than one month is an achievable goal.
