Lee,

I sold enough of my GGO the day the announcement hit the market (Dec 14) so that I was able to take my original investment off the table. As a veteran of the Bre-X and Crystallex threads where Placer was always painted as the Great Satan, my feelings for Placer are mixed. I tend to side with Hutch, that the immediate market for paper gold is weak, although coins and bullion are said to be flying out of the coin stores. Of the majors, I have more confidence in Newmont, which seems to show the most leveraged price swings to the POG. I expect gold and silver to rally strongly before year end 1999, or as soon as our investing public gets its collective head out of their as*, ah internet!
