I do see the point being made by the originator questioing LU ads, they make me want to go buy a what?? the stock actually.

But I would think that you are in the vast, vast minority. Public perception is as important for LU as it is for Chrysler or GM. These guys are not stupid. Surely their ads affect the investor's outlook to some degree. I do agree with the weakness of the Intel case but let's just substitute ADM for Intel. Who goes to the store looking for ADM products?

That's not exactly true. Have you been to Sears lately?

Full of consumer phones and answering machines with the Lucent logo. Also most of the Lucent commercials I see are Wireless ads.

Also if you are a small business owner wouldn't you just maybe have to someday buy a PBX for your office?

The more exposure they receive in getting the consumer to recognize them as a World Class Telecommunication leader the more products they will sell.

Lucent already is the largest Telephone maker.
And as far as the Stock goes, it speaks for itself!
