SATH "Shop-At-Home" just released news on its internet focus. . .Older Men. . .unwise move, IMO.

In bricks and mortar stores . . . .Women browse and men buy.

But on the internet . . . . . . . .Men browse and women buy.

Living in Nashville, I have watched so many local companies make so many dumb decisions I am beginning to suspect that something is in the drinking water here.

CCA [Corrections Corp] trying to merge with PZN....good for owners. . . terrible for shareholders.

SME [Service Merchandise] waiting SOOO long to make changes....now it's too little too late.

CBRL [Cracker Barrel] not sharing even one lousy cent of their profits with shareholders. Then they buy Logan's Roadhse, like that is going to make a difference.

Shoney's thinking they will turn their business around by not changing a thing about their Shoney's or Captain D's restaurants.

Now Shop-At-Home targeting older males with higher priced goods, when that is clearly the LAST demographic to use the internet and Men tend to want to touch and feel higher priced goods before they buy.

One would think these companies would hire marketing executives that understand the dynamics of a rapidly changing retail world.

Dollar General is the only Nashville based publicly traded corp. that I can find that is managing their company well. Terrific brand names at very low prices. . .

. . . they must drink bottled water.
